Eat Anything, Never Exercise… Lose Weight?
We all know that diet and exercise are the key components to any weight loss plan. But what if you just can’t find the motivation? Maybe you watch your diet and exercise regularly but aren’t getting results? Wouldn’t it be great if there was something out there that could help you lose weight with zero effort?
New findings at the Salk Institute could be the answer you’re looking for.
Another Pill
As most miracles today, it’s a new drug that has recently gained recognition after successful animal testing. By injecting the drug into rats, researchers found their subjects didn’t gain weight, regardless of how much they ate.
The secret behind this breakthrough involves activating the P-PAR Delta gene. Once activated, the body begins burning fat. It also hinders the body’s ability to store energy (fat) and instead releases it as heat. Essentially, it mimics how the body reacts during exercise… without the exercise.
Born Lucky?
What I find particularly interesting about this news is its involvement with genetics. I’ve always wondered, and you probably have too, if some people are simply born lucky. That no matter how little they exercise or how much they eat, they never gain weight. Even though I’m not one of the “lucky” ones, it’s still nice knowing that there is a strong genetic component to being thin.
Exercise Still Has a Place
Don’t cancel your gym membership yet! Just because we may not need exercise to lose weight in the future, doesn’t mean it’s worthless. No matter how thin you are, you are still susceptible to heart disease, high blood pressure, and other health problems. This drug doesn’t take every health issue off the list… just obesity.
All Eyes on Britain
Further research is currently being held in Britain to see if the drug will be as successful in humans, as it has been in rats.
