Photographers are most commonly hired for weddings, family shoots, and personal portraits. But sometimes, they are hired to for live events, like conventions, business functions, and corporate retreats. Many budding photographers have a hard time as it is with capturing compelling moments of a wedding, where there are a lower number of subjects. At a live event, there are hundreds, and often thousands of potential subjects and it can be intimidating for someone that lacks the skill and experience to find the signal in the noise – to create great photos from moments happening all around them, constantly.
As a photographer, I did a lot of work early on at conventions – ComicCons, Business Functions, Concerts, and other similar situations. I acclimated to that environment well and produce quality, marketing-ready photos for people who wanted photos to illustrate that their event was a success.
Brian has photographed our annual concert for the past four years. He has an artist’s eye for capturing great photos and always manages to get the shots we need whether it be artists on-stage to overall crowd, meet and greets, and sponsor activation shots. Brian is professional, easy to work with, and has a knack for covering live events. It’s always a pleasure working with him. Look forward to next year!
Brian Shoff is a fantastic photographer. He did a great job capturing some truly incredible pictures and was very professional. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him at Philadelphia Comic Con and can’t wait to work with him again in the future. If you’re looking for a great photographer he is your guy.
